Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma Proposes Council for Future Affairs to Boost India’s Tech Future
Kartikeya Sharma, MP in the Rajya Sabha, introduced a resolution that proposes creating a Council for Future Affairs (CFA) to elevate India’s status as a world leader in emerging technologies, including AI, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, and Small Modular Nuclear Reactors. The CFA would be modeled on the “Department of Future” as developed in Haryana, and function in the same way by providing a single entity to facilitate and bring coordination to research, policy, and collaborations with technology globally. It is intended that the CFA would sit directly under the Prime Minister and be founded on cross-party agreement, so that India could be adequately prepared and well-informed to deal with future disruptions.
