Srinagar: In a significant and emotional development on the 6th anniversary of Article 370 abrogation, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha distributed job offer letters to 250 families who lost their loved ones to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. The event, held at SKICC Srinagar, was attended by hundreds of families from across the Valley who hailed the administration’s initiative.
These jobs were promised by the LG during a recent event in South Kashmir, where he announced that all families affected by terrorism would be compensated with government jobs. The initiative aims to deliver long-awaited justice and support to those who have endured years of grief and hardship.
While addressing the gathering, LG Manoj Sinha paid tribute to the victims and strongly condemned Pakistan’s continued attempts to destabilize Jammu and Kashmir. “All those killed in Pakistani firing I pray for their souls. Our forces have responded with strength through Operation Mahadev and Operation Sindoor, where hundreds of terrorists were neutralised,” he said.
He added, “For the last 30 years, victims of terrorism have waited for justice. Today marks a new beginning this is the Jammu and Kashmir people have always hoped for. Article 370 stood in the way of progress, and after its abrogation, peace and development are visible on the ground.”
Referring to the transformation of Kashmir, LG Sinha highlighted the change in youth mindset. “This is Naya Kashmir no terrorism, no separatism, no hartal calendars. Youth who once threw stones are now holding the Tiranga with pride. That is the real change.”
He acknowledged the delay in reaching out to terror victim families, blaming it on years of separatism and militancy. “Now the people can differentiate between right and wrong. No new terror recruitment is happening because youth see a better future.”
Ending on a powerful note, he said, “August 5 is not a black day. It is a day of justice, of hope, and of unity for every true patriot of country.
