Shobha Yatra Held to Mark Janmashtami Celebrations in Srinagar

Srinagar witnessed a vibrant Shobha Yatra for Janmashtami, with Kashmiri Pandits and locals celebrating in unity amid festive fervour.

Srinagar: A vibrant Shobha Yatra was taken out in Srinagar to mark Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna. The colourful procession featured devotional songs, traditional attire, and tableaux depicting scenes from Krishna’s life, moving through various parts of the city.

Kashmiri Pandits participated in large numbers, marking a significant change on the ground post the revocation of Article 370. Many expressed their joy and thanked the administration for ensuring a peaceful and well-organized march.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups and reflected communal harmony, with members of other communities also extending support and joining the celebrations.

Elaborate security arrangements were in place to maintain peace. Organizers expressed gratitude to the local administration and residents for their support in making the event a success.
