Army boosts youth engagement in Kashmir with cricket

Featuring 64 teams Chinar Premier League  turned out to be one of the most competitive cricket events in region.

Srinagar: The Indian Army’s 19 Infantry Division successfully concluded the Chinar Premier League (CPL) 2025 with a grand closing ceremony at Gen Bipin Rawat Stadium, Baramulla. This year’s tournament featured 64 teams 32 from Baramulla and 32 from other districts making it one of the most competitive cricket events in the region.

The final match saw Ahmed Cricket Club (Sultan Warrior Summerbugh) Srinagar defeat MLA Gym Khana, Budgam by seven wickets to clinch the CPL 2025 Trophy. Waseem Raza was named Man of the Series for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament.

The event was graced by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Dagger Division as the Chief Guest, along with other dignitaries from Baramulla. The winning team received a cash prize of Rs 2,00,000.

The CPL 2025 served as a platform for youth engagement and community bonding, promoting sportsmanship and camaraderie across the Kashmir Valley.
