If luxury was the byword by which we lived our lives, our homes and personal spaces would be its most evident manifestation. Astoria Living, a new furniture and lifestyle brand that views design as a luxurious experience to elevate our daily lives, is a strong believer of this philosophy. It has been envisioned by Atil Yadav, a designer who has worked with many of India’s discerning homeowners, restaurateurs and more. Astoria Living, which recently opened its doors in Delhi’s design district at Sultanpur, brings his eye for detail and love for craftsmanship to furniture.

As he explains, “At the heart of the brand is the idea that in a world filled with noise, true luxury is found in quiet moments—where design speaks in soft tones, and beauty exists in stillness. These pieces don’t shout for attention but belong naturally in a home, growing with the people who live in it. Each design is meant to be lived with, to hold stories, conversations, and memories, while adding character and elegance.” The result is a design-led furniture and lifestyle experiential retail destination which curates one-of-a-kind pieces from across the world. On offer are handpicked furniture and lifestyle solutions, with premium interiors defined by timeless elegance and understated luxury.

Yadav graduated with a degree in Interior Design from the Sushant School of Design in 2017 and earned a Master’s in Interior Design from the University of Westminster, London in 2018. Over the years, he observed a gap in the market for premium, design-forward furniture solutions that aligned with the aspirations of modern Indian homes. This insight led to the conceptualization of Astoria Living, which he describes as an immersive, experiential retail destination. As creative director, Yadav oversees the brand’s creative vision, product curation and design collaborations, while guiding the team’s design sensibilities. He finds inspiration by travelling the world and immersing himself in diverse cultures and ways of living. “These experiences continually inform my approach to curation and design, shaping environments that feel both deeply personal and universally aspirational,” he says.

On the occasion of the launch of the new experiential centre, Sunday Guardian caught up with Yadav for an exclusive chat. Excerpts from an edited interview:

Q. What was your vision behind starting this brand? What sets it apart from other furniture brands?
A: I wanted to address a significant gap in the Indian market—a lack of premium, design-forward furniture solutions that aligned with the aspirations of modern Indian homes. So, I built Astoria Living on a vision to shape the future of luxury living. We prioritize global craftsmanship and contemporary sophistication, which sets the brand apart in the design industry. Looking ahead, we envision creating an ecosystem where architects, designers, clients, vendors and collaborators work seamlessly together to create designs that move away from mere aesthetics to creating a way of life.

Q. Please tell us about your Talora collection.
A: Rooted in the harmony of earth and air, our Talora Collection evokes a sense of quiet luminosity in every silhouette. Chairs and tables flow with effortless grace, balancing grounded warmth with ethereal lightness. This collection includes the plush Amber Lounge Chair, the sleek Dusk Bed, the sink-in Terraire sofa set, the sculptural Quell side table, the geometric Porto Circle coffee table, and the luxurious Verra Dining Table, among other pieces. Each piece embodies Astoria Living’s promise of refined craftsmanship, where comfort and elegance converge in perfect harmony.

Q. What is your design philosophy?
A: Our design philosophy is about elevating everyday living into an art form. Each piece in our collection is handpicked for a quiet life of luxury, chosen for its superior quality, cutting-edge design and timeless elegance, creating spaces that one truly feels and engages with as opposed to merely filling them up. Astoria Living aims to shape the future of luxury living by curating the world’s finest furniture and interior solutions, prioritising timeless craftsmanship and modern sophistication. We believe that in a world filled with noise, true luxury is found in quiet moments, where design speaks in soft tones, and beauty exists in stillness.

Guided by this philosophy, our brand pillars are:

A vision that is inspired by the world: Astoria Living brings together the best in international design and craftsmanship, curating cutting-edge furniture, automation and interior solutions from across the world and shaping the future of luxury living.

A new era of experiential luxury: We believe luxury should be felt, not just seen. Our Experience Centre redefines the way interiors are chosen, allowing you to immerse yourself in carefully curated spaces. At Astoria Living, you can see, touch and feel premium interiors before making them your own. This seamless, interactive approach transforms the process of home design into an inspiring journey.

A commitment to enduring quality: Trends may fade, but true design endures. Every piece in our collection is chosen for its ability to stand the test of time, blending quality craftsmanship with enduring beauty. We handpick each piece to offer a blend of timeless artistry, quaint charm and modern innovation, ensuring that your home reflects a standard of luxury found in the finest spaces globally.
