NEW DELHI: The Congress party’s nationwide “Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod” campaign, spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi, appears to be losing momentum. Sources indicate the issue has failed to resonate with voters, including in Bihar, where the upcoming elections have made political messaging crucial. Party insiders say even within Congress, enthusiasm for the slogan has been low, with many leaders preferring to focus on other strategies.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the Congress’s key ally in Bihar, has already distanced itself from the campaign, asking partners to refrain from using the slogan. Reports suggest Congress may similarly keep the issue off its Bihar campaign agenda. Political observers note parallels with earlier failed campaigns such as “Chowkidar Chor Hai” in 2019 and EVM allegations.
