VIDEO SHOWS: SOUNDBITES FROM LOS ANGELES DODGERS STARTING PITCHER SHOHEI OHTANI, MANAGER DAVE ROBERTS AND TORONTO BLUE JAYS MANAGER JOHN SCHNEIDER, PITCHER SHANE BIEBER AND VLADIMIR GUERRERO JR AFTER GAME FOUR OF WORLD SERIES RESENDING WITH COMPLETE SCRIPT SHOWS: LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (OCTOBER 28, 2025) (MLB – Editorial use only. No monetisation) 1.     SHOHEI OHTANI, LOS ANGELES DODGERS STARTING PITCHER WALKING IN AND BEING SEATED FOR POSTGAME PRESS CONFERENCE WITH TRANSLATOR WILL IRETON AFTER 6-2 DEFEAT TO TORONTO BLUE JAYS IN GAME FOUR OF WORLD SERIES 2.     (SOUNDBITE) (Japanese with English Translation) LOS ANGELES DODGERS STARTING PITCHER SHOHEI OHTANI, SAYING: “Although we did lose the game, I thought I had a productive experience being able to experience this situation. I mean, looking at guys, like, even Will Smith who caught every single inning out of that 18-inning game, I think it was really impressive to see. So we just have to turn the page and focus on the next game.” 3.     WHITE FLASH 4.     (SOUNDBITE) (Japanese with English Translation) LOS ANGELES DODGERS STARTING PITCHER SHOHEI OHTANI AFTER BEING ASKED WHAT WENT WRONG ON THE SWEEPER ON THE HOME RUN PITCH TO (VLADIMIR) GUERRERO (JR)? “Obviously, looking back in hindsight, it was just a regrettable pitch, something I wish that I could have taken back. It was just a bad spot, that location.” 5. WHITE FLASH 6.     (SOUNDBITE) (English) DODGERS MANAGER DAVE ROBERTS AFTER BEING ASKED IF THEY HAVE FOUND THE RHYTHM IN POSTSEASON, SAYING: “We haven't found our rhythm. We haven't. It sort of draws dead at certain parts of the lineup and different parts, different innings, different games. Guys are competing. Certainly, in the postseason, you're seeing everyone's best. But, yeah, my hope is we regroup tomorrow, gather the information that we had from (Trey) Yesavage, and keep him in the hitting zone, and understand what that split does, which is certainly helpful, and when we get the fastball, really get on it.” 7.     WHITE FLASH 8.     (SOUNDBITE) (English) DODGERS MANAGER DAVE ROBERTS WHEN ASKED IF OHTANI HAD AN ORDINARY NIGHT, SAYING: “He's mortal, but there's also a lot of energy, obviously, on the pitching exerted. But they made good pitches. There were some backdoor cutters, some breaking balls crowding him a little bit, and I thought his intent tonight at the plate was good. But you look back at those at-bats, they made good pitches on him. They really did.” 9.     WHITE FLASH 10.     (SOUNDBITE) (English) DODGERS MANAGER DAVE ROBERTS AFTER BEING ASKED ABOUT THE PRESSURE ON OHTANI TO DO EXTRAORDINARY THINGS EVERY NIGHT, SAYING:    “You know, I know he doesn't see it as pressure. I would say that's what he expects from himself. It's part of being a fan and seeing great things from great players. So every time he steps up I expect great things to happen, and maybe unfairly.” 11.  (SOUNDBITE) (English) BLUE JAYS MANAGER JOHN SCHNEIDER WHEN ASKED ABOUT THE STORY OF THIS WORLD SERIES OHTANI VERSUS GUERRERO, SAYING:   “Yeah, I get that it's easy to write Ohtani versus Guerrero. To us, it's Toronto versus Los Angeles. But that swing was huge. A sweeper is a pitch designed to generate pop-ups, in my opinion. And the swing that Vlad (Vladimir Guerrero Jr) put on it was elite. After last night and kind of all the recognition that went into Shohei individually and he's on the mound today, it's a huge swing from Vlad. It's a huge swing to get us going. I think that gives you some momentum. Shohei settled in, struck out quite a few in a row after that. But our at-bats there kind of just — it was a Blue Jay inning, Varsh (Daulton Varsho), Ernie (Clement), and then you kind of went to work. But the swing from Vlad was game-changer. 12.  WHITE FLASH 13.  (SOUNDBITE) (English) BLUE JAYS MANAGER JOHN SCHNEIDER WHEN ASKED ABOUT TREY YESAVAGE STARTING TOMORROW, SAYING: “Really good. I feel really good about this team every night. It's hard to play 18 innings and come back and kind of flip the narrative against a very talented team and a very talented individual in Shohei Ohtani on the mound. I feel really good about just us, you know, focusing on tomorrow's game. Trey, I think, has been someone that's kind of come into our environment and he understands kind of how we go about it. So I don't want him to think, you know, he has to do anything other than what we expect him to do. And it's going to take all 26 again tomorrow. But I feel really comfortable and confident with him on the mound, and tomorrow presents a new challenge against Blake Snell again.” 14.  (SOUNDBITE) (English) BLUE JAYS’ PITCHER SHANE BIEBER WHEN ASKED IF THE PITCHING IN THE WORLD SERIES LIVE UP TO EXPECTATIONS, SAYING: “Yeah. Yeah, it was awesome. Very grateful for the opportunity to start for the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series to even up the series. Now we just got to get two more. But, yeah, the circumstances were something, that's for sure, coming off of last night and wanting to go deep into the ball game. I would have — if I looked at my outing objectively, I would have loved to give the team a couple more innings, but ultimately, it's the World Series and a win's all that matters, so we'll deal with tomorrow.” 15.  (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish with English translation) TORONTO BLUE JAYS’ VLADIMIR GUERRERO JR WHEN ASKED ABOUT HIS EMOTIONS WHEN HE HIT THAT HOMER AGAINST OHTANI TONIGHT, SAYING: “Definitely I feel very happy, I mean, especially in that moment when we took the lead. It was very important for me to hit that home run, and from that point on, we got going.” 16.  WHITE FLASH 17.  (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish with English translation) TORONTO BLUE JAYS’ VLADIMIR GUERRERO JR WHEN ASKED ABOUT GUERRERO V OHTANI, SAYING:  “I mean, like I said before, I respect Ohtani a lot, and I know basically myself and him, we are, like, the talk of the series, but when we are between those two lines, we're competing. I mean, it felt good that tonight I could hit that homer against him. But like I said before, he's a great athlete.” STORY: Shohei Ohtani’s long-awaited World Series pitching debut ended in disappointment on Tuesday (October 28) as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 to level the Fall Classic at two games apiece, one night after their record-tying marathon in Game Three. A day after reaching base nine times in an 18-inning epic that tied the longest World Series game ever, Ohtani lasted six innings on the mound, striking out six and allowing six hits, though he gave up the game's only home run. He was charged with four earned runs after exiting in the top of the seventh with two runners aboard. The Dodgers struck first in the second inning on a Kike Hernandez sacrifice fly, but Vladimir Guerrero Jr put Toronto ahead for good with a two-run homer in the third, the first home run Ohtani had surrendered since August and the first baseman's seventh home run this postseason. The Blue Jays then broke the game open with a four-run seventh, as the Dodgers showed the strain of back-to-back late nights and a thin bullpen. Andres Gimenez, Bo Bichette and Addison Barger all drove in runs to silence the Dodger Stadium crowd. Ohtani said he felt physically fine despite the quick turnaround after Monday’s 18-inning marathon. The two-way star called the experience "productive," even in defeat. Toronto's Shane Bieber earned the win with 5-1/3 innings of one-run ball, limiting Los Angeles to four hits while striking out three and walking four, before a worn Blue Jays bullpen combined for nearly four shutout frames to close out the victory. Bieber called the experience 'awesome'. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praised Ohtani's effort but said the Blue Jays "grinded out at-bats" and capitalized when it mattered. Roberts admitted the Dodgers' offense has yet to find a rhythm this postseason while his counterpart Blue Jays' manager John Sch…
