Srinagar: Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty, who took part in the second edition of the Kashmir Marathon-2025 in Srinagar, praised the Valley’s scenic beauty and expressed his admiration for the spirit of the participants. Describing the experience as “amazing,” Shetty called Kashmir “one of the most beautiful places on earth.”
Speaking to reporters during the event, Shetty highlighted how the marathon not only promoted fitness and sports but also showcased the resilience and warmth of the people of Kashmir. “It was incredible to witness such enthusiasm from participants from across India and abroad. The actor also pointed out the renewed interest of the film industry in the region, revealing that two to three Bollywood films are planned to be shot in Kashmir soon. “Kashmir has always been close to the heart of Indian cinema. Filmmakers are again showing keen interest, and soon you’ll see some major projects being filmed here,” he added.
Shetty appreciated the organizers for hosting a large-scale sporting event that attracted more than 1,500 runners, including international athletes and prominent public figures. He also mentioned the recent presence of international cricket stars like Chris Gayle, stating that such events indicate that Kashmir is regaining its position as a hub for sports and tourism.
