Russian General Fanil Sarvarov was killed in a car bomb in Moscow as investigators probe possible Ukrainian intelligence amid rising targeted attacks.

A senior Russian military official, Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov, was killed in a car bomb explosion in Moscow on Monday, Russia’s Investigative Committee confirmed. Lieutenant General Fanil Saravarov headed the Operational Training Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, died from his injuries after the blast. 

Investigators said multiple angles are being examined, including the possibility of Ukrainian intelligence involvement, as targeted attacks on Russian military figures continue amid the ongoing war.
