ICC Women’s World Cup 2025
On 2 November, 2025 India’s Women created history at Navi Mumbai by lifting their first ever ICC Women’s World Cup. Batting first India set a formidable target of 299 runs, courtesy of Shafali Verma’s sparkling fifty and earning her the player of the match award. South Africa was restricted to 246 thus handing India with the historic victory. Deepti Sharma got the Player of the Tournament while received prize money of INR 37.3 crore.
ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025
The Indian Men’s team won the third ICC Champions Trophy beating New Zealand in nail biting match by four wickets. India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament becoming the most successful team in the Champions Trophy history. Rohit Sharma scored 76 runs in the final and got the Man of the Match award while Rachin Ravindra got the Player of the Tournament. Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy were the prominent ballers with two wickets each.
Men’s Asia Cup 2025
India won their ninth Asia Cup title in Dubai beating arch-rivals Pakistan in the tight final. Kuldeep Yadav with four wickets and was the frontrunner in bowling as Pakistan were restricted to 146 runs. India got over the line with two balls to spare as Tilak Verma’s unbeaten 69 guided the chase. The highlight for India is that they remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, beating Pakistan thrice. Some off-field controversies saw India not getting the trophy but the win marked their supremacy over the continent.
Virat Kohli beats record of Sachin Tendulkar
Virat Kohli passed Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most centuries in a single format in his 52 ODI century during the first ODI against South Africa at Ranchi and took him clear of Tendulkar’s 49 ODI hundreds. The milestone further reinforced Kohli’s status as one of cricket’s modern greats.
Maiden Women’s Blind T20 World Cup
The Indian Women’s Blind team won their first ever T20 World Cup defeating Nepal in Colombo. Bowling first, India restricted Nepal to 114/5 and chased the targets in just 12 overs and losing three wickets. The triumph is expected to inspire disabled athletes across the country and bring greater recognition to inclusive sports in India.
