SRINAGAR: As the nation gears up to welcome the New Year with celebrations, the Border Security Force (BSF) continues its round-the-clock vigil along the Line of Control (LoC) braving snow-covered mountains and subzero temperatures. In a special high-altitude deployment, BSF jawans are ensuring security both at the borders and in Kashmir’s key tourist zones.

Over the past few weeks, there has been a noticeable uptick in infiltration attempts from across the border. In response, BSF personnel have intensified foot patrolling in the deep snow and treacherous terrain of the LoC region. The jawans are guarding the fence in extremely harsh weather conditions, ensuring zero infiltration. Speaking to our team, several jawans conveyed their readiness to counter any threat and extended heartfelt New Year wishes to fellow citizens.

In addition to patrolling, combing operations by BSF Black Commandos are underway in forested zones near the LoC. These operations were launched following intelligence inputs indicating suspicious movement. Despite facing severe cold, snow blindness, and the risk of frostbite, the Black Commandos are conducting precise and determined search missions through the dense forests. Their resilience, spirit, and sacrifices remain a strong testament to India’s unwavering defence posture.

Night surveillance has also been stepped up. Jawans equipped with thermal imaging and night vision devices are conducting patrols through pitch darkness in snow-bound regions. These 24×7 patrols are a crucial part of India’s anti-infiltration grid, and ensure the safety of both border residents and the rest of the nation.

Meanwhile, BSF deployment is also visible in popular tourist destinations such as Gulmarg and Botapathri. Their presence has boosted tourist confidence significantly. Visitors have expressed gratitude, stating that the visible security allows them to explore Kashmir’s scenic beauty without fear. BSF personnel are also conducting precautionary search operations in forest zones near tourist areas, ensuring a secure environment. From the high, icy heights of the LoC to bustling tourist hubs, the BSF stands as a silent yet strong guardian. Their constant presence is a symbol of peace, safety, and national pride, protecting the borders and enabling the return of tourism and normalcy to the Kashmir Valley.
