Sana Khan has once again addressed questions around her decision to leave the entertainment world, making it clear that the move was entirely her own. She said her exit from acting was deeply personal and rooted in a spiritual awakening, not influenced by her husband, Mufti Anas Syed. According to Sana, she was searching for inner peace and a stronger connection with her faith, which ultimately led her to step away from show business.
Why Sana Khan Left the Entertainment Industry?
Sana Khan quit the film and television industry in 2020, shortly after marrying Islamic scholar Mufti Anas Syed. At the time, her decision surprised many. Since then, she has reshaped her public identity as a religious content creator, regularly sharing messages about spirituality, self-discovery, and emotional balance. In a recent conversation with actress Rashami Desai, Sana firmly dismissed claims that her husband had any role in pushing her to give up acting.
“I Was Transforming as a Person,” Sana Khan Says
Opening up about that phase of her life, Sana explained that she was going through intense emotional and mental changes. She said her thoughts, priorities, and outlook on life were shifting rapidly. This inner transformation, she stressed, came from within and was not the result of anyone else’s pressure.
“The situation was such that major changes were happening in my life. I was literally transforming into a different person. And this was not something caused by my husband, it was something I wanted for myself. He was the one who guided me in that direction,” she explained.
She added that while her husband supported and guided her, the decision to walk away from the glamour industry was entirely her own choice.
Sana Khan Explained ‘Fame Didn’t Bring the Peace She Wanted’
Sana also spoke about the criticism she has faced online, especially claims that she was controlled or influenced by someone else. She said such assumptions ignore the fact that life-altering decisions cannot be forced. Despite enjoying fame, financial comfort, and public recognition, she eventually felt unfulfilled.
She shared that the constant pursuit of success and validation began to feel hollow. What she truly longed for was peace and clarity something she felt could not be found through money or popularity.
Reflecting on her journey, Sana said she realised how much one’s surroundings and influences shape thinking and decisions. When the environment feels out of sync, judgment can suffer too. Through personal experiences and self-reflection, she learned the value of choosing the right path and the right people.
This understanding, she said, strengthened her relationship with her husband. She expressed deep gratitude for having a partner she considers irreplaceable, adding that although the decision to change her life so drastically was difficult, it felt necessary for her growth and peace.
Through her journey, Sana Khan continues to emphasise that her choices were driven by faith, self-awareness, and a desire for inner calm values she now prioritises above all else.
