With less than three weeks remaining before the T20 World Cup, Afghanistan and West Indies will step up their preparations with a T20I series in the United Arab Emirates, starting on Monday.
Afghanistan, led by star spinner Rashid Khan, come into the series looking to continue their strong form in T20 cricket. West Indies, captained by Brandon King, will use the series to test their squad depth and give opportunities to players on the bench.
The series will be a special one for Rashid Khan, who is close to playing his 100th T20 International match. Afghanistan have a better record against West Indies in T20Is, winning five of their eight meetings. Their most recent win was a dominant 104-run victory over West Indies on their home ground during the 2024 T20 World Cup group stage match at Guyana.
The wait is over! ⏳
The stage is set for the 1st T20I as both sides prepare to battle it out in the series opener. 🔥#AfghanAtalan | #AFGvWI | #GloriousNationVictoriousTeam pic.twitter.com/oWzq3UHzfN
