GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS HEAD COACH STEVE KERR SPEAKING AT POSTGAME PRESS CONFERENCE AFTER 111-85 WIN OVER MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES 2. (SOUNDBITE)(English) WARRIORS HEAD COACH STEVE KERR AFTER BEING ASKED IF HIS TEAM WAS ABLE TO FOCUS ON THE GAME WITH EVERYTHING GOING ON IN MINNEAPOLIS, SAYING: "Honestly, what I felt was that their group (Timberwolves) was suffering. I thought the vibe in the stands, it was one of the most bizarre, sad games I've ever been a part of. You could feel the somber atmosphere. Their team, we could tell they were struggling with everything that's been going on. And what the city has been through. So it was very sad. It was a sad night. Obviously, we got the win, and we're happy about that. But very difficult to see so many people struggling and sad. And they came to the game to try to forget about stuff, I guess. But I don't think anything went away for the city and for their team. I think they were." 3. WHITE FLASH 4. (SOUNDBITE)(English) WARRIORS HEAD COACH STEVE KERR AFTER BEING ASKED IF HE HAD A MESSAGE TO THE TEAM ABOUT WHAT'S HAPPENING IN MINNEAPOLIS, SAYING: "Just how bizarre things felt. But we did what we had to do. We came out and we played a solid game and took care of the ball and played hard. And so it was a good win. But it's always a night like tonight you feel the perspective of everything and the relative insignificance of a game. You know, with an atmosphere like that, knowing everything that's happened, knowing where our country is right now is so very, very. 5. WHITE FLASH 6. (SOUNDBITE)(English) WARRIORS HEAD COACH STEVE KERR AFTER BEING ASKED ABOUT STAYING IN MINNEAPOLIS TO PLAY ANOTHER GAME ON MONDAY, SAYING: "We're visitors in the city, and so we are observing everything. The residents and their team and their staff, they're all feeling it because it's their city. We are feeling it as observers, I think it's a different perspective. And so we're feeling sad for everybody here, the fans and the community. And obviously the. And the people who have lost the family members. So we have to do our job. We have an 830 game tomorrow night. So at least we have some time with the early start today, a little extra rest, and maybe an optional shoot around tomorrow, just if guys want to get out of the hotel. But just praying for the city and for the people here, and very appreciative and thankful for. The hospitality that they've given us and yeah, I think we all just feel a sense of empathy for what they're going through." 7. MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES HEAD COACH CHRIS FINCH SPEAKING AT POSTGAME PRESS CONFERENCE AFTER LOSS 8. (SOUNDBITE)(English) TIMBERWOLVES HEAD COACH CHRIS FINCH, SAYING: REPORTERS OFF-CAMERA ASKING: "Do you attribute some of that to this weekend and everything?" CHRIS FINCH: "Yeah, I have no idea. I mean, you know, I don't, it's hard to say. But, you, know, certainly, certainly…the mood was off from the beginning, you know, so." STATEMENT FROM MINNESOTA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ON BEHALF OF MORE THAN 60 CEOS OF MINNESOTA-BASED COMPANIES READING (English):   "The business community in Minnesota prides itself in providing leadership and solving problems to ensure a strong and vibrant state. The recent challenges facing our state have created widespread disruption and tragic loss of life. For the past several weeks, representatives of Minnesota's business community have been working every day behind the scenes with federal, state and local officials to advance real solutions. These efforts have included close communication with the Governor, the White House, the Vice President and local mayors. There are ways for us to come together to foster progress. With yesterday's tragic news, we are calling for an immediate deescalation of tensions and for state, local and federal officials to work together to find real solutions. We have been working for generations to build a strong and vibrant state here in Minnesota and will do so in the months and years ahead with equal and even greater commitment. In this difficult moment for our community, we call for peace and focused cooperation among local, state and federal leaders to achieve a swift and durable solution that enables families, businesses, our employees, and communities across Minnesota to resume our work to build a bright and prosperous future."   STORY: Stephen Curry finished with 26 points and seven assists and the Golden State Warriors pulled away for a 111-85 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday (January 25) evening in Minneapolis in a two game series that was postponed one day due to the shooting of Alex Pretti. The two game series was slated to begin Saturday but an incident in which federal immigration agents shot and killed a man in Minneapolis led the NBA to postpone the contest and move it to Sunday with game two Monday. Moses Moody added 19 points and eight rebounds for Golden State, which snapped a two-game skid and won its first full game since Jimmy Butler sustained a season-ending injury. Brandin Podziemski scored 12 points on 6-for-10 shooting and De'Anthony Melton matched him with 12 off the bench. Anthony Edwards scored 32 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Minnesota, which lost its fifth in a row. Donte DiVincenzo finished with 22 points and Julius Randle scored 11. Golden State outscored Minnesota 64-39 in the second half to seal the victory. The Warriors only shot 42.1% from the field, but the Timberwolves hit just 38% of their shots. The Warriors led 47-46 at the half. Golden State set the tone for the second half with six straight points from Podziemski. He made three layups in a row, including one assisted by Al Horford and another assisted by Curry. Draymond Green put the Warriors ahead by double digits when he tipped in a shot to make it 62-51 with 7:45 remaining in the third. Golden State continued to dominate, increasing its lead to 24 on a 3-pointer by Gui Santos with 18.2 seconds left in the third. The Warriors outscored the Timberwolves 38-17 during the period. Timberwolves coach Chris Finch emptied his bench with 5:10 remaining in the game, sending in substitutes for all five starters. Golden State played without forward Jonathan Kuminga, who was diagnosed with a bone bruise in his left knee after sustaining an injury Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks. The Warriors said the 23-year-old would be re-evaluated "in the coming days." The teams initially were scheduled to play Saturday afternoon, but the game was postponed after masked federal agents shot and killed 37-year-old Alex Pretti, who worked as a nurse at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The Timberwolves held a moment of silence for Pretti before the start of the game. (Production: David Grip)
