Luka Dončić delivered a dominant performance on Sunday night, scoring 46 points as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Chicago Bulls 129–118 at the United Center. Along with Luka’s scoring explosion, the Lakers turned in one of their strongest defensive efforts of the season to secure the road win. The Lakers were active defensively, forcing 15 Chicago turnovers and converting them into 23 points. After a slow opening stretch, Los Angeles took control of the game and led for the entire final three quarters.

LeBron James set the tone early, scoring six of the Lakers’ first 12 points and carrying the offense in the opening minutes. Dončić quickly joined in, while Chicago received early contributions from Jalen Smith and Matas Buzelis. At the first timeout, the Bulls held a four-point lead. The momentum shifted late in the first quarter. Dončić found his rhythm from deep, hitting multiple three-pointers, while Rui Hachimura provided an instant spark off the bench. The Lakers closed the quarter on a 9–0 run and never looked back.

Los Angeles fully seized control in the second quarter, opening the period with a 16–2 run. LeBron continued to attack the basket, while the Lakers’ defense tightened behind the efforts of Jarred Vanderbilt, Jaxson Hayes, and Hachimura. Dončić was unstoppable during the quarter, pouring in 20 points as the Lakers built a comfortable lead.By the end of the third quarter, Los Angeles held a 15-point advantage. Chicago made a push in the fourth, trimming the lead to seven midway through the period, but Dončić responded with another three-pointer to halt the comeback attempt. Moments later, Hayes delivered the exclamation point with a steal and a highlight dunk that ignited the Lakers bench.

Dončić finished the night with 46 points, seven rebounds, and 11 assists in a complete all-around performance.
