Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have raised the price of commercial cooking gas cylinders starting February 1. The cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has gone up by Rs 49. This increase mainly affects hotels, restaurants, and other business establishments that use these cylinders regularly.
The price change, reported by ANI, is part of the regular monthly revision. It comes on the same day Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the Union Budget 2026 in Parliament.
In Delhi, the new retail price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder is ₹1740.50 from today.
No Change in Domestic LPG Cylinder Rates
There is some relief for households. The price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has not been changed. It continues to cost Rs 853. The last revision for domestic LPG was in April 2025, when prices were increased by Rs 50.

Previous LPG Price Changes
In January 2026, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi experienced a sharp increase of Rs 111, taking it to Rs 1,691.50. Before that, prices had been reduced in two monthly revisions. On December 1, the rate was cut by Rs 15.50, and earlier there had been a Rs 5 reduction.
The latest hike will raise operating costs for restaurants, hotels, street food vendors, and other businesses that depend on LPG.
Meanwhile, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged.
Why Commercial LPG Prices Change
India imports over 60% of its LPG needs, which affects pricing. For domestic LPG, the government controls the effective price for consumers. However, commercial LPG prices are decided independently by the oil marketing companies, according to the oil ministry.
On January 1, 2026, the price of a commercial cylinder in Delhi was ₹1691.50, around ₹110 higher than December.
Still, the current price in February 2026 is lower compared to the same date last year. On this day last year, the price was ₹1797, which is higher than today’s ₹1740.50.
Factors That Influence LPG Prices
Public sector companies such as Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) set the prices. They adjust rates based on international market trends and other market conditions.
Global factors that affect LPG pricing include exchange rates, shipping costs, insurance, customs duties, and overall import-related expenses.
Overall, while households are protected from price changes for now, the latest increase in commercial LPG rates is likely to put pressure on business expenses in the food and hospitality sectors.
