Chandigarh: Dera Radha Soami Beas Chief Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon, visited Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia at Nabha jail for the second time on 2 February 2026. After the meeting, Dhillon stated that the criminal allegations against majithia are false and baseless.
Majithia has been in judicial custody since june 25, 2025, following his arrest by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in connection with a disproportionate assets case. the authorities allege that he laundered over ₹540 crore of Drug money through shell companies and benami transactions during his tenure from 2007 to 2017. A comprehensive 40,000-page chargesheet was filed against him on August 22, 2025.
The meeting between Dhillon and Majithia lasted approximately 35 minutes and was conducted under tight security. Dhillon, who has close family ties with Majithia’s wife, Ganieve Kaur, met Majithia as a family member, as per jail protocols. Following the visit on 23 September, Majithia expressed gratitude on social media, stating, “I neither have such status nor such capability… I am a humble, forgetful being,” thanking the “highly revered Baba ji,” and expressing his resolve to remain in high spirits.
The visit has sparked discussions in political and religious circles, with some interpreting it as a gesture of moral support. Observers suggest that Dhillon’s visit could signal the Radha Soami sect’s sympathies and possible support for Majithia amidst the ongoing legal proceedings.
The implications of Dhillon’s visit are being closely watched, especially as Punjab approaches the 2027 assembly elections. while the full impact remains to be seen, the meeting underscores the intersection of spiritual influence and political dynamics in the region.
