Record 150 puppies to compete in 22nd annual Puppy Bowl promoting pet adoption

SHOW CLIP OF PUPPIES DRINKING FROM WATER BOWL STORY: A record-breaking 150 dogs from 72 shelters around the U.S. and the British Virgin Islands will compete in the 22nd annual Puppy Bowl on Super Bowl Sunday (February 8).     The yearly event, which aims to promote pet adoption, will simulcast across U.S. networks Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV, HBO Max, and Discovery+.     Over the course of three hours, adoption stories will be intertwined with furry matchups between teams Ruff and Fluff, the reigning champions. For the 15th year, referee Dan Schachner makes his return to the field to keep order.     New this year will be a special half-time exhibition game featuring 15 senior dogs split between Team Oldies and Team Goldies.     The program will end with the presentation of the "Lombarky" trophy to the winners and the naming of the MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) and Underdog Award.
