An explosion hit an Imambargah in Islamabad’s Tarlai area, triggering a medical emergency as rescue operations continue, and casualties are feared.

Pakistan Blast: An explosion struck at the Shia Imambargah Khadijat-ul-Kubra in Islamabad’s Tarlai area on Friday, as suicide bombing. This led to triggered panic among residents. This Pakistan blast took place at the Tarlai Imambargah located near Shehzad Town, sending shockwaves through the surrounding locality. The authorities expect fatalities to occur, but they have not yet determined how many people died or suffered injuries.

Pakistan Blast: Rescue Operations and Medical Emergency

As per the reports, a team of police and rescue teams rushed immediately to the site just after the explosion and began relief operations. The security forces cordoned off the area just to prevent further danger and to facilitate the investigation. Major hospitals throughout the capital, including Polyclinic Hospital, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, and CDA Hospital, have activated their medical emergency response plans.

The officials confirmed that emergency departments, together with orthopaedic units, burn centres, and neurology wards, have opened their facilities. The medical facilities at PIMS and Polyclinic currently receive patients who need immediate medical attention.

Pakistan Blast: Investigation Underway

Authorities have initiated an investigation process that will identify both the type of explosion and its originating cause. Security staff members at Islamabad’s critical locations are performing extended surveillance operations while bomb disposal teams and forensic scientists investigate the explosion site.

Pakistan Blast: Previous Attack Raises Security Concerns

This incident took place at Pakistan’s Imambargah in Islamabad, less than three months after a suicide bombing that happened outside a district and sessions court in Islamabad’s G-11 sector on November 11 2025. This attack led to result in 31 killed and more than 160 injuries, which created new security risks that spread across the capital.
