The esports world was left surprised after popular streamer Kyedae Shymko confirmed that she and professional VALORANT player Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo have ended their relationship. Kyedae shared the update on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that the couple had actually separated some time ago but only now felt emotionally ready to make the news public.

In her post dated February 7, Kyedae explained that the decision was not sudden. She said the breakup followed deep reflection toward the later stage of their relationship.

“Toward the end of our relationship, we came to a realization that wasn’t easy to accept: we had stopped growing as individuals,” Kyedae wrote.

She described how closely intertwined their lives had become over the years. From work to hobbies, they did almost everything together, which made their six-year relationship feel far longer.

Why Kyedae Shymko and TenZ Decided to Separate

Kyedae shared that the couple moved in together just weeks after first meeting. Over time, she felt that they had little experience living independently outside of each other.

“Over time, it became clear that we needed space to grow into our own people separately,” she wrote. “There was no wrongdoing, no resentment, and no single event that caused this.”

In short, the breakup did not involve betrayal or conflict—just a mutual realization that personal growth required distance.

TenZ and Kyedae Engagement

TenZ and Kyedae got engaged in late 2022, and their relationship was widely admired within the gaming and esports community.

Kyedae Cancer Battle

In 2023, Kyedae revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy. Throughout her treatment, TenZ stood by her side, and the couple often shared emotional moments and supportive messages online. Their shared challenges made the breakup especially heartbreaking for fans.

Following the announcement, many users reacted online with emotional responses, including viral posts declaring that “love is dead.”

Despite the emotional impact on followers, both Kyedae and TenZ made it clear that they are parting on good terms and hold no bitterness toward each other.

While the breakup left many fans feeling disheartened, others acknowledged that the two were very young when they began their relationship.

It is common, supporters noted, for young couples to grow in different directions as they mature. “We still care deeply about each other and genuinely want the best for one another,” Kyedae wrote. “We’re also incredibly grateful for the time and life we shared together!”

Though their relationship has ended, Kyedae and TenZ emphasized mutual respect, gratitude, and well wishes bringing a calm and mature close to one of esports’ most beloved partnerships.
