Are Aliens Real?: Former US president Barack Obama has once again shared his thoughts on aliens, saying he believes extraterrestrial life exists but admits he has no idea where it might be.
Barack Obama says aliens are real, but unseen
In a podcast interview released on Saturday with YouTuber Brian Tyler Cowen, Obama was asked directly about the existence of aliens. He replied confidently, “They’re real.”
However, he made it clear that he has never personally seen any evidence of them.
Obama also addressed popular conspiracy theories, especially those linked to Area 51. “But I haven’t seen them. They’re not being kept at Area 51. There’s no underground facility unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the President of the United States,” he said.
Why Area 51 fuels alien theories
Area 51 is a top-secret US Air Force base in Groom Lake, Nevada. For decades, it has been at the centre of speculation, with many believing the US government hides alien technology or remains there. These theories have only grown stronger over the years due to limited public information about the base.
Rising interest in UFOs and UAPs
Public curiosity about aliens has increased in recent years after the US government released documents about unexplained aircraft sightings. These sightings are now officially called Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs), the modern term for UFOs.
According to the New York Post, leaked radar footage from US Air Force Reaper drones recorded about 13 years ago reportedly shows UAPs flying over the Middle East. These recordings added to global debate about unexplained objects in the sky.
Obama has spoken about UFOs before
This is not the first time Obama has commented on aliens and UFOs. In a 2021 interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden, he joked, “When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just can’t tell you on air.”
Despite the humour, Obama later spoke seriously about the issue. He confirmed that UAP sightings are genuine and said the US government has not been able to identify where these objects come from or explain how they move.
“But what is true and I’m actually being serious here is that there’s footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are,” Obama had said.
His comments continue to keep the global conversation about aliens and unexplained aerial phenomena very much alive.
