A 23-year-old man lost his life in a tragic road accident in Delhi’s Dwarka South area after an SUV collided with his motorcycle. The victim, identified as Sahil Dhaneshra, died on the spot due to severe injuries.

The incident took place on February 4, 2026, near Lal Bahadur Shastri College. Police said the SUV involved in the crash was allegedly being driven by 19-year-old Akshatra Singh, a student of a private college in Delhi. Authorities confirmed that Singh did not have a valid driving licence at the time of the accident and later apprehended him.

Dwarka Scorpio Accident: Post-Mortem Report Reveals Severe Injuries

According to the post-mortem findings, Sahil suffered a fractured skull, multiple rib fractures, and an elbow fracture due to the impact of the Scorpio SUV. The force of the collision proved fatal.

Police said the SUV first collided with the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction and then rammed into a parked cab on the roadside. The accident also left the cab driver seriously injured.

Mother Alleges Driver Was Filming Reels

The victim’s mother, Inna Makan, has demanded strict action and claimed that the SUV driver was filming social media reels while driving.

“The speed with which the Scorpio is being driven is clearly visible in the reel. He (the Scorpio driver) was driving in the opposite lane and came right in front of the bus and performed a stunt. My son looked to the right to see whether there was space. Because there was an e-rickshaw on the left side of the bus. The Scorpio collided with the motorcycle and hit the roadside parked car. The Scorpio driver did not apply the brakes after the collision. Even a cab driver has been seriously injured in the accident. This is a criminal activity. Some people think that they can do anything on the road because their parents are wealthy; this is a criminal mentality. This is not just an accident. My son died due to their fun reel,” she told ANI.

The family has urged authorities to ensure strict punishment and prevent such reckless driving incidents in the future.

“According to initial findings, the SUV was coming from the direction of a gurudwara, while the motorcycle was approaching from the opposite direction. Following the collision between the SUV and the motorcycle, the SUV went on to hit the cab parked on the roadside,” he told HT.

Police are continuing the investigation and examining CCTV footage and digital evidence to determine the exact sequence of events.

Dwarka Scorpio Accident: Rising Concerns Over Reckless Driving and Social Media Stunts

The incident has once again raised concerns over reckless driving, especially involving young drivers and social media stunts. Authorities have repeatedly warned against filming reels or performing dangerous acts on public roads.

The case has sparked outrage in the local community, with many calling for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and tougher penalties for driving without a licence.

As the investigation continues, Sahil’s family waits for justice, hoping that accountability in this case will help prevent similar tragedies on Delhi’s roads.
