The decision affects thousands of Indian students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools across Gulf nations and Iran.
The board announced the move after security concerns increased following ongoing military tensions involving Iran and joint strikes by the United States and Israel. Authorities said the safety of students and exam staff remains the top priority.

Why CBSE Cancelled Exams In Middle East Countries
CBSE decided after the security situation in the Middle East worsened following military action in the region. The ongoing conflict between Iran and forces supported by the United States and Israel has led to heightened tensions and security alerts in several countries.
Reports of attacks targeting US bases and diplomatic facilities in the region have raised concerns about the safety of students and school staff.
The situation has also affected daily life in several cities across the Middle East, prompting authorities and institutions to take precautionary measures.
Latest Developments In The Ongoing Iran War
The conflict continues to expand beyond Iran’s borders, raising fears of a wider regional confrontation. Recent reports indicate that military incidents have occurred in several areas across the region.
The situation has reportedly reached as far as the Sri Lankan coast, where a US submarine torpedoed an Iranian warship. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan warned of retaliation after a drone struck an airport in the country.
Officials in Azerbaijan said the incident “will not go unanswered” and that they are “preparing the necessary retaliatory measures,” raising concerns that more countries could become involved in the conflict.
Iran’s official IRNA news agency reported that at least 1,045 military personnel and civilians have been killed since the conflict began, though the number has not been independently verified.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that several locations in Tehran, including a sports complex, a football stadium, municipal buildings, and shops, suffered damage during recent strikes carried out by Israeli and US forces.
