Iran Announces New Policy on Strikes Against Neighbouring Countries
The Iranian president explained that the country has adopted a new policy aimed at reducing regional tensions. According to him, Iran will not target neighbouring territories unless attacks against Iran originate from those countries.
“Iran will not carry out attacks or missile strikes against neighboring countries unless an attack against Iran originates from those countries,” Pezeshkian was quoted by Iran International as saying on Saturday.
He added that the policy has been approved by Iran’s interim leadership council and is meant to prevent further escalation in the region.
Tehran Says It Does Not Seek Conflict with Regional Governments
Pezeshkian also emphasized that Iran does not hold hostile intentions toward neighbouring countries. He said Tehran does not want confrontation with governments across the region, even though tensions with Israel and the United States continue.
However, the Iranian president made it clear that the country would not give in to pressure from its adversaries. “The enemies must take their wish for the surrender of the Iranian people to their graves,” he said.

During the attacks on Tehran, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed while he was inside his residential compound. The strike also resulted in the deaths of members of his family, including his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.
Later, his wife, Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, also died after suffering injuries in the attack.
These developments have significantly increased tensions in the Middle East and raised concerns about the possibility of a wider regional conflict.
