Delhi is likely to witness unusually warm, early summer-like conditions on Sunday, 08 March, 2026 with temperatures staying 23 to 38 degrees Celsius above normal for this time of year.
According to the IMD, the country is likely to experience a warmer-than-average March. In most parts of the northern and central regions, the temperatures during the day will remain between 21-40°C with some areas experiencing an increase of 4-7°C above the normal temperatures due to the lack of cloud formation and rainfall.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heatwave warnings for multiple regions, particularly in the Western Himalayan states and the plains of Northwest India. Daytime temperatures in Jammu, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Vidarbha are 6–12°C above normal, creating challenging conditions for residents. Isolated pockets in the northeast and southern states may see light rainfall over the next few days.
