The T20 World Cup 2026 final had a lot more to offer than just the cricket on the field. While Suryakumar Yadav and his teammates were focused on making India’s name shine at a historic third T20 World Cup, a candid moment in the VIP stands featuring former captain Rohit Sharma and his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, has taken the internet by storm.

We all know that on Sunday, March 8 2026, India defeated New Zealand in a pretty dominating fashion by 96 runs. After a match that was so one-sided, the cameras focused on the couple having what looked like an incredibly serious discussion during the post, match celebrations. Rohit, who was playing the role of the official Tournament Ambassador along with MS Dhoni, was very expressive with his hands while speaking, and Ritika seemed totally animated, even as she was responding. This scene, recorded as the family members were coming near the boundary line to congratulate the champions, has made the fans speculate if the “Hitman” was also being given tactical lecture even on India’s biggest night.

The clip’s just a few seconds, but it’s packed. Rohit and his wife were caught up in a quick, heated exchange right in the middle of the chaos. The whole stadium goes wild after Abhishek Sharma nails the last wicket, but honestly, these two barely notice. For a moment, you can see it on Rohit’s face—he’s about to give in. People online had a field day with that, joking that even if you win all the World Cups, at the end of the day, you’re still answering to your wife.

Champions Of The World: A Historic Night For India

Fans had fun with that viral video, sure, but the main story was India’s total dominance. The Men in Blue smashed 255 for 5, the highest score ever in a T20 World Cup final. Sanju Samson lit up the stadium with his 89 off just 46 balls. When New Zealand tried to chase, Jasprit Bumrah shut them down, picking up 4 wickets for only 15 runs and grabbing the Player of the Match award. This win made India the only team to claim the T20 World Cup three times (2007, 2024, 2026) and the first to defend the title. After the match, Rohit Sharma, fresh from a chat with Ritika, jumped right into the celebrations.
