New Zealand star Glenn Phillips and his wife Kate Victoria were seen sharing some affectionate moments with one another after Team India thrashed the Kiwis in the T20 World Cup 2026 final on March 8, Sunday in Ahmedabad. In a video surfaced on social media, Phillips and his wife were seen kissing on the ground as his partner seemingly consoled him after a tough outing on Sunday.

Glenn Phillips bowled only one over and got out cheaply with the bat:

Phillips, the 28-year-old, surprisingly never bowled beyond one over despite giving away only five runs. With the bat, the right-handed batter came under real pressure in the fourth over of the innings as the required rate had surged to 13.17. Nevertheless, left-arm spinner Axar Patel cleaned him up for 5 in the fifth over of the innings, reducing the Black Caps to 47/3.

Here’s the clip of Glenn Phillips with his wife:

The tourists were always playing catch-up, especially after conceding 255 in an occasion as big as the final and managed to take only five wickets. With the bat, only Tim Seifert shone, scoring 52 and were eventually bowled out for 159 in an innings that lasted 19 overs.

SKY and the boys should be very very proud” – Mitchell Santner

At the post-game presentation, Black Caps skipper Mitchell Santner lauded Team India for having players, who stood up at different stages to make the tournament a memorable one for them. He stated, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo:

Proud of the boys to make it this far. Obviously we had some challenges throughout but at each stage we put up a good fight. Today we got outplayed by a great team in front of a great crowd. To see a big sea of blue, obviously India were home favourites. Playing a home World Cup comes with a lot of pressure. But yeah SKY and the boys should be very very proud. Different guys stood up at different stages. In the Super Eight and semi-finals we put up a good fight but tonight we were obviously outplayed.”

Jasprit Bumrah earned the Player of the Match in the final, while Sanju Samson was awarded the Player of the Tournament.
