India’s largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services, has expanded its global artificial intelligence innovation network by opening a new Gemini Experience Centre in the United States. The facility is designed to help manufacturing companies experiment with advanced “Physical AI” technologies that combine robotics, sensors, and cloud computing to improve industrial operations.

The new centre is located in Troy, Michigan, and represents the seventh Gemini Experience Centre launched by TCS worldwide. The initiative reflects the growing demand for AI-driven solutions in factories and industrial environments as companies seek to improve safety, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Through this centre, TCS plans to work closely with manufacturers to test real-world AI use cases and accelerate the shift from experimental AI projects to large-scale industrial deployment.

What is the TCS Gemini Experience Centre?

The Gemini Experience Centre is part of TCS’s global innovation ecosystem, designed to showcase and develop enterprise AI solutions. These centres allow businesses to explore how advanced technologies can solve real operational challenges.

The newest centre in Michigan has been developed in collaboration with Google Cloud. It is the second Gemini Experience Centre in the United States after the one previously established in New York.

Inside the facility, companies can test various AI-driven technologies, participate in workshops, and explore practical applications of automation and intelligent systems. The goal is to help organisations move beyond pilot AI projects and adopt fully operational solutions.

TCS also plans to expand the Gemini Experience Centre network significantly in the coming years.

What is Physical AI & Why Manufacturing Companies Are Adopting It?

Physical AI refers to artificial intelligence systems that interact with the physical world using robotics, sensors and edge computing.

At the new centre, TCS will demonstrate how AI-powered robots, sensors and cloud-based intelligence can automate complex industrial tasks and help factories operate more safely and efficiently.

The facility will run on the TCS Physical AI Blueprint, an end-to-end framework designed to integrate robotics, AI analytics and cloud orchestration. This framework combines:

  • AI-powered quadruped robots
  • Humanoid robotics systems
  • Advanced sensing technologies
  • Edge intelligence for real-time analysis
  • Secure cloud infrastructure for decision-making

Together, these technologies enable factories to monitor operations continuously, detect issues early and automate routine tasks.

Key Features of the 7th Gemini Experience Centre

The new Gemini Experience Centre in Troy includes several advanced capabilities designed for modern manufacturing environments.

Key features include:

  • AI-powered robotics systems, including quadruped and humanoid robots
  • Advanced sensing technologies to monitor factory environments in real time
  • Edge computing intelligence to process data instantly at the source
  • Secure cloud orchestration to connect machines and systems through the cloud
  • TCS Physical AI Blueprint framework for deploying industrial AI solutions
  • Interactive demonstrations and workshops for manufacturers to test AI use cases

These capabilities allow companies to experiment with AI technologies before deploying them at scale in their factories.

What Will the New TCS Innovation Centre Do?

The Troy-based Gemini Experience Centre will allow manufacturing companies to explore and scale AI-powered solutions for real-world industrial challenges.

The facility includes the TCS Physical AI Blueprint, which acts as an end-to-end framework combining robotics, sensing technologies, edge intelligence, and cloud computing.

The system integrates AI-powered quadruped and humanoid robots that can perform monitoring tasks, analyse data, and provide real-time insights for factory operations.

Key Use Cases of Physical AI in Manufacturing

TCS says the technology demonstrated in the centre will support a range of industrial use cases. Some of the major applications include:

  • Autonomous security patrolling inside industrial facilities
  • Environmental monitoring and anomaly detection
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance monitoring
  • AI-powered quality inspection systems
  • Project progress tracking within manufacturing sites
  • Predictive maintenance and equipment health monitoring

These systems can provide continuous monitoring and data-driven insights that help companies optimise production processes.

TCS and Google Cloud Partnership

The Gemini Experience Centre initiative also strengthens the partnership between Tata Consultancy Services and Google Cloud, which are collaborating to develop advanced AI-driven enterprise solutions.

Saurabh Tiwary, VP and General Manager, Cloud AI, Google Cloud, said, “Through the new Physical AI Gemini Experience Centre, we are equipping global manufacturers with the intelligence to build more autonomous, resilient, and data-driven enterprises, allowing them to fully optimize their business models with Google Cloud’s leading technology.”

The partnership also focuses on integrating Google’s Gemini Enterprise AI tools with TCS solutions to help businesses adopt AI more efficiently.

Where Are Other TCS Gemini Experience Centres Located?

With the launch of the Michigan facility, TCS now operates seven Gemini Experience Centres globally. Existing centres are located in:

  • Bengaluru
  • New York
  • Chennai
  • Riyadh
  • Singapore
  • São Paulo

These centres are part of the broader TCS innovation ecosystem, which connects companies, startups, and academic institutions to develop emerging technologies.

TCS Plans to Expand AI Innovation Network

TCS plans to significantly expand its Gemini Experience Centre network in the coming years as demand for enterprise AI continues to grow.

The company aims to establish 13 Gemini Experience Centres worldwide by 2026, with six additional facilities expected to open within the next year.

These centres will support organisations in exploring artificial intelligence applications, developing new digital capabilities, and building more intelligent and autonomous business operations.

As industries increasingly adopt AI-driven automation, initiatives like the Gemini Experience Centre could play an important role in shaping the future of smart manufacturing and digital transformation.
