Gold Price Today Live News: Gold prices are trading largely stable today, with spot gold hovering around $4,122 per ounce. In the domestic market, 24-karat gold is priced at approximately ₹14,493 per gram, while 22-karat gold is trading near ₹13,285 per gram. Despite today’s steady movement, gold remains on track for a weekly decline as expectations of further US interest rate hikes continue to weigh on investor sentiment.

The average gold price in India today is around ₹14,381 per gram for 24-karat gold and ₹13,180 per gram for 22-karat gold. Retail gold prices also witnessed a modest rebound on Friday after experiencing sharp declines earlier this week.

In Delhi, today’s gold rate is ₹14,495 per gram for 24-karat gold (99.9% purity), ₹13,290 per gram for 22-karat gold (91.6% purity), and ₹10,877 per gram for 18-karat gold (75% purity). Gold prices in the national capital have shown positive momentum since the beginning of the year, supported by increased demand for safe-haven assets as equity markets faced volatility. While gold prices had largely traded within a narrow range over the past few years, the recent weakness in stock markets has encouraged more investors to turn to the precious metal as a relatively safer investment option.

    • Market sentiment turned cautious after US President Donald Trump said the interim ceasefire agreement with Iran was “over,” raising concerns over renewed conflict in the region.
    • The possibility of further disruptions to Middle East oil supplies briefly pushed crude prices higher before they eased.
    • Despite the recent pullback, investors remain focused on geopolitical developments, as any escalation could tighten global oil supplies and increase energy costs.
    • Rising crude oil prices have also renewed concerns about higher inflation, as increased energy costs could impact fuel prices, transportation expenses, and overall global economic growth.

Gold & Silver Price Today: Why Gold & Silver Are Falling?

Although sentiments have improved worldwide, domestic prices of gold experienced fluctuations owing to some profit-taking after a sharp rise while investors would want to book their profits on the back of an upswing to record highs in recent days. But apart from that, changes in rupee value, futures position and investors sentiments played a role in correcting prices in short term while on the other hand, poor employment statistics in the US and lack of expectation of any aggressive tightening by the Fed still support gold. The prices of silver have stayed firm in the Indian market at ₹2,50,000 per kg and internationally, silver prices have increased 2.8% during the week.

    Can Gold Prices Rise Again?

    • US interest rate expectations that are low favour gold.
    • A lower dollar is favourable for bullion price growth.
    • Increased geopolitical tensions may boost gold’s safe-haven status.
    • The central bank activity is strong.
    • The inflation factor remains supportive of prices.
    • A potential pullback may be a buying opportunity.
    • Expectations of volatility prevail but analysts remain optimistic about medium-term prospects.

    Key Considerations for Buyers

    • Go for BIS hallmarked jewellery alone.
    • Compare rates from various jewellers.
    • Consider making charge and GST.
    • Opt for gold ETFs as an investment.
    • Don’t indulge in panic buying during sudden rallies.
    • Make investments gradually instead of in a lump sum.
    • Look at international market trends before investing.

What Will Happen To Gold If the Fed Begins Raising Rates?

Historically, rising interest rates through Fed rate hikes have always led to a stronger dollar and rising bond yields while gold is a non-interest-bearing commodity and hence, rising interest rates have usually reduced its appeal, causing a decline in price temporarily. If, however, the inflation levels remain high, then gold continues to receive safe-haven investments in spite of the rise in interest rates and hence, future price changes would be a function of more than just interest rates.

Should You Buy Gold Today or Hold Back in India?

    • Do not buy in lump sum but rather phase your purchases since the prices are still near record high levels.
    • 24K gold is available at ₹14,673 per gram, whereas 22K gold is at ₹13,450 per gram.
    • Gold Futures for MCX Gold August were trading at ₹1,47,710 per 10 grams up 1.34%.
    • The gains from gold in the past year have been 37.6%, adding to its investment attractiveness.
    • The expectation of an interest rate hike by the Fed has dropped to 54% from 66%, benefiting gold.
    • Investors could buy on dips, while speculators can buy after further dips in prices.
    • Make sure that you compare making charges, GST and hallmark certification before buying jewelry.
    • Gold ETFs are a good substitute for those who want low-cost and high liquidity investments.
