New Delhi: Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) has been recognised for its excellence in operational leadership and strategic communication, securing two prestigious awards at the Governance Now 11th PSU Awards held last week in Delhi on 28 February 2025. The awards acknowledge the contributions of public sector enterprises across key industries.

Commodore Girideep Singh (Retd), Director (Strategic Projects) at HSL, was awarded the ‘Operations Leadership’ Award for driving critical reforms and engineering advancements in ship repair and submarine refit operations.

“His strategic interventions have bolstered operational efficiency, ensuring that all refit projects in recent years were completed either on schedule or ahead of time. The award recognises HSL’s consistent ability to precisely deliver complex maritime projects, reinforcing its standing as a key player in India’s shipbuilding and repair sector,” the shipyard highlighted.

Neelima Boni, Senior Manager (Corporate Planning) and PRO at HSL, accepted the ‘Communication Outreach’ Award on behalf of the company. The recognition highlights HSL’s efforts to strengthen its brand presence, expand its digital footprint, and enhance global engagement, contributing to its broader industry visibility and business growth.

HSL received these accolades in the ‘Other PSU’ category alongside leading public sector undertakings from the Maharatna, Navratna, Miniratna, and State PSU segments. The awards were presented by Satish Chandra Dubey, Minister of State for Coal and Mines, and Satya Pal Singh, former Minister of State for Human Resource Development.

These recognitions highlight HSL’s ongoing commitment to innovation, efficiency, and self-reliance, as the company continues to expand
its role in India’s maritime industry. With a growing international presence and a strong operational track record, HSL remains pivotal in advancing the country’s shipbuilding and defence infrastructure ambitions.
