Both Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading higher on the first trading day of the week, i.e., Friday, July 17, 2026, backed by the rise in the purchasing of IT stocks following a 28.4% jump in the yearly profits to ₹1,465 crore during Q1 by Tech Mahindra. Despite a flat finish during the previous session, the 30-share BSE Sensex index rose by 480.95 points or 0.62%, reaching 77,656.56 in the initial trading period. The NSE Nifty 50 index was up by 125.05 points or about 0.52%, hitting 24,201, crossing the important level of 24,200. The BSE IT index was trading higher due to positive performances of IT companies following the quarterly results of Tech Mahindra.
