Oil & Inflation

  • Brent crude hovered near $84–$86/barrel, keeping inflation concerns alive across import-dependent economies.
  • WTI crude traded around $80–$82/barrel, reflecting volatile energy sentiment.
  • India imports nearly 85% of its crude oil needs, making domestic inflation sensitive to price spikes.
  • Every sustained $10 rise in crude can pressure transport and manufacturing costs.
  • Higher fuel costs often raise logistics, food and retail prices.
  • Sticky inflation may delay interest-rate cuts globally.
  • Inflation hedging demand can support precious metals like silver and gold.
  • Rupee weakness alongside costly oil can further lift imported commodity prices.

  • Industrial outlook supportive
  • Retail buyers selective
  • Volatility likely to continue
