Crude oil prices rose by more than 1% as Brent oil prices ended at $89.22 per barrel while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) prices ended at $83.23 per barrel. Markets were buoyed by expectations of resumed talks between the United States and Iran, even as worries about Houthi strikes on the Red Sea and blockages in the Strait of Hormuz remained relevant. Geopolitical uncertainties notwithstanding, healthy global stock levels might keep crude prices from rising further.
