Stock Market Today | Closing Bell: Indian markets closed on June 2 with a positive vibe, though a bit uneven, where the Nifty 50 kept itself above the 23,400 level in a pretty comfortable way. The Sensex was up 382.50 points, or 0.52%, ending at 74,649.84. Meanwhile, the Nifty gained 100.95 points, or 0.43%, to wrap up at 23,483.55, even with some intraday back and forth; sentiment mostly stayed constructive, in a sort of quiet but steady manner. IT stocks really took the stage, sort of like the market’s “lead performer,” and TCS, Infosys, HCL Tech, and Tech Mahindra pulled the show higher. Adani Enterprises also leaned into the rally list, and that helped. On the other hand, NTPC, Power Grid, Dr. Reddy’s, Axis Bank, and HDFC Life added some brakes, and that kept enthusiasm from running too fast. Sector-wise, the Nifty IT index jumped 4.3%, leaving most other groups behind fairly easily. PSU banks, autos, metals, and realty managed modest gains too. But pharma, healthcare, and power were lagging a step, and you could feel that drag during the session. Even the broader markets moved in sync, with midcaps and smallcaps edging up, which again suggested a cautious but steady risk-on tone.

Stock Market Closing Today @3:30 Pm

  • Nifty 50: 23,483.55 100.95 (0.43%)
  • Sensex: 74,649.84 382.50 (0.52%)

Indian markets closed higher with modest gains as Sensex and Nifty advanced. IT stocks led the rally, while selective sectoral weakness in pharma and power kept overall sentiment balanced and cautious.

Stock Market Opening Today

Indian markets began June 2 on a soft note, slipping at the open as global cues stayed mixed. The Sensex dropped 379.63 points to 73,887.71, while the Nifty slid 125.50 points to 23,257.10, briefly losing grip on the 23,300 mark. IT stocks tried to play peacemaker early on, with Infosys, TCS, and HCL Tech showing some strength. But the mood stayed cautious as Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, and Apollo Hospitals dragged on sentiment. Overall, it was a “slow start, watch and wait” kind of session rather than a full-speed market sprint.
