What is Happening in the Indian Stock Market Today?

Indian stocks moved with contrasting trends on Thursday as the indices closed mostly flat due to strength in finance and banking shares, even as tech stocks were underperforming. The BSE Sensex closed more or less flat at 77,187, while the Nifty 50 ended lower by 5.75 points at 24,072.75. Cautious sentiment prevailed as the Indian market received weak triggers from Asian markets as well as high valuations in technology and artificial intelligence stocks. Moreover, the ongoing results season had its impact on individual stocks, where Tech Mahindra rose following healthy profits, but Wipro fell sharply following poor growth in profits and revenues.
