Positive prospects continue to persist for the UK stocks market where the FTSE 100 Index is gaining from reduced geopolitical risks, increased risk appetite, and improved corporate earnings. The FTSE 100 Index has been trading at 10,888.30, which represents a rise of 0.08% following a rise of 0.3% recorded on Wednesday when the previous session ended higher as traders responded positively to reports about the US-Iran negotiations and reduced risks in the Middle East. Sentiment in the market was also positive following the remarks made by US President Donald Trump that negotiations with Iran were going very nicely as well as news regarding a proposal related to the Strait of Hormuz. In addition to the optimism regarding improved geopolitical risks, corporate earnings improved the performance of the index with Next Plc rallying over 5% as the company raised full year profit guidance while Glencore shares rallied over 3.5% as the company registered an 86% rise in profit during the period under review and announced a $500 million buyback program. Coca-Cola HBC shares rallied more than 4% following robust sales growth.
