UK Stock Market Today (July 9):  The UK stock market is trading lower today, with the FTSE 100 Index down 0.47% at 10,435.73. While broader European markets are recovering from the previous session’s losses caused by escalating US-Iran geopolitical tensions, London’s benchmark index is lagging behind its regional peers. The decline has been largely driven by a sharp fall in AstraZeneca shares after the company reported disappointing results from a major late-stage clinical trial.

In contrast, mid-cap stocks are showing stronger momentum. The FTSE 250 Index has rebounded 0.5% to 23,131.58, recovering after falling 1.54% in the previous trading session.
