Union Bank of India is going through important changes in its organisation. The bank has informed stock exchanges about recent top management changes, following SEBI rules on official disclosures. These updates include one retirement and one promotion.

The position of Chief General Manager (CGM) became vacant after Shri Bhaskara Rao Kare completed his term on January 31, 2026. After this, Shri Sarvesh Ranjan was appointed as the new CGM from February 1, 2026. In his new role, he will handle Central Reconciliation work, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) operations, and other additional duties. He brings nearly 30 years of banking experience to the position.

Who Is Sarvesh Ranjan?

Shri Sarvesh Ranjan was previously serving as a General Manager at Union Bank. His promotion to Chief General Manager marks a significant step in his long career with the bank.

Sarvesh Ranjan Professional Experience

Sarvesh Ranjan has an engineering degree and nearly 30 years of experience in the banking industry. He has been associated with Union Bank for a long time and has handled various functions of the bank. His work experience includes handling functions related to branch banking, zonal offices, training institutes, and corporate offices.

Prior to his promotion, he was handling the functions of Central Reconciliation, Transaction Monitoring, and AML. In these roles, he was responsible for ensuring that the financial systems and monitoring processes are running in a smooth and effective manner.

Sarvesh Ranjan has also completed advanced leadership and professional training programs. He attended capacity-building courses at the University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland and ISB Hyderabad. In addition, he earned certifications in IT and Cyber Security from IDRBT Hyderabad, strengthening his expertise in technology-related banking functions.
