Why is Netflix Stock Down Today?

After analyzing the results, Netflix’s stocks fell because the market considered more than the good quarterly results of the firm. Even though both the company’s revenues and profits were in line with market predictions, the markets reacted badly to the lowered Q3 revenue projections and to the decision by the company to issue an annual “What We Watched” report starting in 2027.

Netflix announced quarterly revenue of $12.56 billion, which was in line with the Wall Street expectations and earnings per share of $0.80, which beat expectations by one cent. Operating income increased by more than 20% year over year and the full-year revenue forecast remained unchanged however, there was an expectation of better guidance from Netflix.

The company gave an estimate of the revenue at $12.86 billion for the third quarter, which is approximately 11% growth adjusted for foreign exchange while market expectations were that there will be some improvement in numbers in Q3.
