A theft case involving Ameesha Patel’s family has come to light in Mumbai. Gold and diamond jewellery worth around Rs 5 lakh has reportedly gone missing from her parents’ home. The residence is located in the Churchgate area and the case has now led to the arrest of a domestic helper.
The investigation is currently underway, with the police trying to recover the missing jewellery and piece together what happened at the Patel family residence.
Ameesha Patel’s Parents’ Churchgate Home Hit By Jewellery Theft
According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, Ameesha Patel and her brother Ashmit Patel’s parents live in the Churchgate area of Mumbai. It was from this residence that gold and diamond jewellery worth approximately Rs 5 lakh was reportedly stolen.
Ameesha’s mother, Asha Patel, filed a complaint with the Marine Drive police after discovering that the jewellery was missing.
Ameesha Patel’s Family Domestic Help Arrested In Theft Case
The investigation eventually led the police to a 40-year-old woman named Seema Vinod Ghate who worked as a domestic helper at the Patel family home.
The report stated that Ghate had been working at the residence for around one-and-a-half years. The police reportedly traced her to Virar and arrested her in connection with the case.
She was later produced before a court which sent her to police custody until September 15.
Ameesha Patel’s Mother Suspected The Theft For Months
The alleged theft did not come to light as a recent incident. According to details reported by Dainik Bhaskar, the jewellery was allegedly stolen in January 2026.
Asha Patel reportedly suspected the domestic helper and had allegedly been asking her for around five to six months to admit to the theft and return the jewellery. But the jewellery was not returned following which Asha approached the police.
Ameesha Patel’s Family Filed FIR After Jewellery Was Not Returned
After receiving the complaint, the Marine Drive police registered an FIR and began investigating the matter. The case was initially registered against an unknown woman.
According to Dainik Bhaskar, the police crime detection team subsequently worked on identifying and tracing the person allegedly involved. The investigation eventually led them to Seema Ghate who was arrested from Virar.
The police are also reportedly checking whether the accused has any previous criminal record.
Ameesha Patel Jewellery Theft Case: Gold And Diamonds Yet To Be Recovered
While the arrest has been made, the allegedly stolen jewellery has not yet been recovered.
As per the Dainik Bhaskar report, the investigation team is now working to trace the missing gold and diamond jewellery and determine where it has been taken.
