The countdown to another terrifying chapter of American Horror Story has officially begun. After weeks of anticipation, FX has finally announced when Season 13 will premiere, and it’s bringing back some of the franchise’s biggest stars along with an addition – Ariana Grande.

When Does American Horror Story Season 13 Release?
American Horror Story Season 13 premieres on Thursday, September 24, at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on FX and Hulu. International viewers will be able to stream the new season on Disney+ in select regions.
Star-Studded Cast Of American Horror Story
Season 13 is shaping up to be one of the biggest reunions in the show’s history. Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman are all returning to the anthology. Joining them for the first time is pop superstar Ariana Grande, whose casting has already become one of the biggest talking points surrounding the new season.
The season also features John Waters, while John Carroll Lynch, Mena Suvari and Matt Fraser will reprise characters from previous AHS installments. Newcomers Paul Anthony Kelly, Berto Colón and Joey Pollari are also joining the anthology.
What’s American Horror Story Season 13 About?
FX is keeping the plot tightly under wraps, but it has teased that Season 13 will celebrate the legacy of the long-running horror anthology.
The official logline reads, “An unrivaled 13th installment that will do justice to everyone’s most feared number. Bringing together an all-star cast, many of whom are reprising fan favorite roles, American Horror Story: 13 continues to build on the anthology’s decades-long legacy that has been streamed more than 700 million hours across the globe and spawned a legion of dedicated fans.”
It continues, “American Horror Story has redefined the genre with various installments featuring a creepy murder house, a coven of witches, a traveling freak show, a haunted hotel and the apocalypse itself. Which iconic horrors will return to haunt the hallowed halls of 13 and what new terrors await? Light your candles, draw your pentagrams and prepare for a supreme surprise.”
For now, FX has not revealed which past stories or characters will return.
AHS Heads To Comic-Con
Ahead of the premiere, American Horror Story is making a big splash at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, taking place from July 23 to 26. The series will feature themed ice cream trucks serving treats inspired by previous seasons, while teaser artwork for Season 13 will be displayed at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.
