Marvel Studios has released a brand-new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday which gives fans their most detailed look yet at the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film. Alongside the action-packed footage, the studio also confirmed that tickets are now on sale for Avengers: Doomsday in Infinity Vision, a new Premium Large Format certification.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Doomsday is set to arrive in theatres on December 18. The latest trailer brings together heroes from across multiple Marvel universes while teasing growing tensions within their ranks. It also offers the first full glimpse of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom who establishes himself as a powerful force capable of taking on even the MCU’s strongest heroes.

Avengers: Doomsday Trailer – Thor Calls On The Avengers To Assemble

The trailer opens on an ominous note with a voice saying, “Something’s coming… Something we may not be able to deter. Before this day is done, we shall be faced with an unthinkable decision.” The sequence begins with Professor Charles Xavier looking out of a window as a blazing object streaks across the sky before the footage cuts to what appears to be Doctor Doom.

Thor then takes centre stage as he attempts to rally the scattered heroes. “I fought with many warriors in my time,” he says while the trailer shows first glimpses of Sam Wilson’s Captain America, the Fantastic Four, Winter Soldier, Ant Man, Shuri, Cyclops, Shang Chi, Gambit, Loki and many more.

As the trailer continues, Thor warns that the heroes cannot afford to remain divided.

“They were far stronger than all of us put together and they died. They died facing enemies and threats that scared me far less than this one. Everything that they sacrificed will be for nothing. Put aside your petty squabbles and presume nothing except this. If you return, you will return as brothers and sisters. But mark my words, we’re going to need a miracle.”

His words make it clear that the heroes are facing a threat greater than anything they have encountered before and that setting aside their differences may be their only chance of survival.

Shang Chi And Gambit Fight As Tensions Rise

The trailer hints that the heroes are far from united when the story begins. One of the standout action sequences features Simu Liu’s Shang Chi taking on Channing Tatum’s Gambit.

Another sequence shows Yelena Belova battling Mystique while glimpses of Wakanda and the Fantastic Four indicate that alliances are still being formed across different corners of the Marvel universe.

Doctor Doom’s First Full Glimpse Steals The Show

One of the trailer’s biggest moments is the first complete reveal of Doctor Doom. It finally shows him in action and demonstrate just how formidable he is.

During a confrontation with Thor, the God of Thunder attacks using Stormbreaker. But Doctor Doom stops the weapon with just two fingers without even flinching. This brief exchange immediately establishes the scale of his power and signals that the Avengers will be facing one of their most dangerous opponents yet.

Steve Rogers’ Return Leaves Thor Speechless

Chris Evans as Steve Rogers makes a dramatic appearance which leaves Thor visibly stunned as Mjolnir flies back towards Captain America in a moment that brings back the memory of Avengers: Endgame.

Avengers: Doomsday New Poster

In addition to the trailer, Marvel Studios has unveiled a new poster for Avengers: Doomsday.

Produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Jonathan Schwartz, Avengers: Doomsday features one of the biggest ensembles in MCU history. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Alan Cumming, Hannah John Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Mabel Cadena and Tenoch Huerta Mejía.
