Emraan Hashmi has delivered one of the biggest theatrical successes of his career with Awarapan 2. The action thriller, which brings back Hashmi as Shivam Pandit nearly two decades after the 2007 original, has managed to turn the nostalgia around the first film into strong box office momentum. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 hit theatres on August 14 and has maintained a solid run through its opening days.
How Much Did Awarapan 2 Earn On Day 5?
According to Sacnilk, Awarapan 2 collected Rs 9.75 crore net in India on Day 5, Tuesday. The figure represents a 5.4 per cent increase over its Day 4 collection of Rs 9.25 crore. The film recorded the Day 5 collection across 11,060 shows with an occupancy of around 28 per cent.
The Tuesday growth is significant because the film had registered a considerable fall after its opening weekend. Its Day 4 collection stood at Rs 9.25 crore but the slight recovery on Tuesday helped the film maintain its momentum and cross the Rs 100 crore mark in India.
What Is Awarapan 2’s Total Box Office Collection?
As per Sacnilk, Awarapan 2 has collected Rs 100.75 crore net in India after five days. Its total India gross collection stands at Rs 120.33 crore. The film has also been performing in overseas markets where it added Rs 2 crore gross on Day 5. Its overseas gross collection has reached Rs 23.80 crore which took the film’s worldwide gross to Rs 144.13 crore so far.
The five-day India net journey has been led by a strong opening weekend. The film earned Rs 22 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 33.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 26 crore on Sunday. It then collected Rs 9.25 crore on Monday before rising to Rs 9.75 crore on Tuesday.

What Is Awarapan 2 About?
The story of Awarapan 2 takes place years after the events of the first film. Shivam Pandit has been left emotionally shattered after the death of his love, Aaliyah, in the original movie. In the sequel, he is pulled back into a dangerous world when a new situation gives him a reason to return to action.
The story follows Shivam as he gets involved in a mission connected to an abandoned girl whom he had once helped. His journey eventually takes him towards Bangkok where he is forced to confront a criminal network and once again find a purpose in his life.

Unlike the 2007 Awarapan, which was directed by Mohit Suri, the sequel has been directed by Nitin Kakkar. The film has been written by Bilal Siddiqui and Vishesh Bhatt and produced under the Vishesh Films banner.
