After making a massive impact at the global box office, Backrooms has officially arrived on digital platforms. The A24 psychological horror film, which became one of the biggest horror success stories of the year, is now available to stream on demand.
Directed by Kane Parsons in his feature-length debut, Backrooms has been one of the most talked-about releases of 2026. Parsons, who is best known for creating the viral YouTube analog horror series of the same name, turned his online phenomenon into a feature film that resonated with audiences worldwide.
The movie reportedly earned over $81 million during its opening weekend and has gone on to collect nearly $350 million at the global box office.

Backrooms OTT Release: Where Can You Watch?
As of July 14, Backrooms is available to buy or rent digitally on Prime Video and Apple TV. The film is priced at $24.99 (approximately Rs 2,400) for purchase while viewers who prefer to rent it can do so for $19.99 (Rs 1,919). Those choosing the rental option will have 30 days to start watching the film and 48 hours to finish it once playback begins.
You don’t need an active Amazon Prime or Apple TV+ subscription to rent or buy the film. But you will need an account on either platform to complete the purchase or rental.
Backrooms: What It Is About?
Set in 1990, Backrooms follows Clark, a struggling furniture store owner and former architect whose life takes an unexpected turn after he discovers a mysterious doorway hidden beneath his store.
The entrance leads to the “Backrooms,” an eerie alternate dimension filled with endless yellow hallways, empty rooms and spaces where the normal rules of reality no longer seem to exist.
When Clark becomes trapped inside the maze-like world, his therapist, Dr. Mary Kline, sets out to find him. As she ventures deeper into the strange dimension, she encounters terrifying entities and increasingly disturbing environments that blur the line between reality and nightmare.
Backrooms: Cast
The film features an ensemble led by Chiwetel Ejiofor, who plays Clark, a furniture store owner struggling to rebuild his life.
Joining him is Renate Reinsve as therapist Dr. Mary Kline while Mark Duplass portrays Phil, an Async scientist researching the mysterious Backrooms.
The cast also includes Finn Bennett as Bobby Franklin, Lukita Maxwell as Kat Taylor, Avan Jogia as Async explorer Naren Warne, Krista Kosonen as Nora Kline and Robert Bobroczkyi, who plays the terrifying Pirate Clark.
