Qazi Touqeer may have entered the Bigg Boss 20 house as a familiar face from the world of reality singing shows but within just a few days, he has managed to become one of the contestants viewers cannot stop talking about. His unpredictable behaviour, spontaneous singing and dramatic exchanges with fellow housemates have already made him a regular presence across social media.
Now, Qazi has received a rather special shoutout from someone who knows him from long before his Bigg Boss comeback: Arijit Singh.
The singer recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to show his support for Qazi where he revealed that the latter’s presence in the house might actually convince him to tune into Bigg Boss for the first time.
Arijit wrote, “I will have to watch BIG BOSS for the first time in my life cz Apna Rockstar QAZI hai udhar.”
Why Is Qazi Touqeer Going Viral On Bigg Boss 20?
Qazi has wasted little time making his personality known inside the Bigg Boss house. From breaking into songs without warning to getting involved in heated exchanges, the singer has emerged as one of the more unpredictable contestants of the season.
His signature “I’m a Rockstar baby, aau!” dialogue has particularly caught on with viewers and became one of the early moments from the season to gain traction online.
His recent confrontation with rapper Yung DSA has also put him at the centre of another major social media discussion. The argument reminded several viewers of the explosive confrontation between Shalin Bhanot and MC Stan during Bigg Boss 16 which has led some fans to start calling Qazi the “Shalin” of the current season.
Qazi Touqeer And Arijit Singh Go Way Back
The connection between Qazi and Arijit is not a recent one. The two singers first crossed paths more than two decades ago when they were contestants on the 2005 singing reality show Fame Gurukul.
Qazi eventually emerged as one of the winners of the competition alongside Ruprekha Banerjee, while Arijit continued his musical journey after the show and eventually became one of the biggest playback singers in the country.
Despite their careers taking very different directions, their friendship has continued over the years. Earlier this year, Qazi shared glimpses from a visit to Jiaganj in West Bengal, Arijit’s hometown, where the two were seen spending time together, riding around on a scooty and even playing cricket.
