The wait for the conclusion of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War has just become a little longer. The final two episodes of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity have been delayed. This means that fans will have to wait until later in October to see how the long-running anime adaptation finally wraps up its story.

Episodes 9 and 10 of The Calamity, which are Episodes 49 and 50 overall, have been pushed back from their earlier schedule. According to the official announcement, the decision has been taken to give the production team more time to improve the quality of the anime as it heads into its climax and final episode.

When Will Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity Episodes 49 And 50 Release?

The two final episodes now have confirmed dates. Episode 49, which is Episode 9 of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity, will air in Japan on October 19 at 24:00 JST. Since 24:00 JST effectively means midnight at the start of the following day, this translates to October 20 at 12:00 AM JST.

The final episode, Episode 50 overall and Episode 10 of The Calamity, is scheduled for October 26 at 24:00 JST. In India, that works out to approximately 8:30 PM IST on October 26.

Why Has Episode 49 And 50 Of Bleach Thousand-Year Blood – The Calamity Been Delayed?

The delay is not being attributed to a scheduling clash or a streaming issue. The official explanation points directly towards the quality of the final episodes. The production committee said the broadcast and streaming dates were being changed “in order to enhance quality toward the climax and deliver the work to everyone in the best possible form up to the final episode.”

The team also apologised to fans who had been eagerly waiting for the next episodes and assured viewers that the staff would continue working with the utmost sincerity as the anime approaches its conclusion.

Bleach Thousand-Year Blood – The Calamity: What Will Air Instead Of Episode 49?

Fans won’t be left completely without Bleach content during the wait. Until Episode 49 arrives, the BLEACH Thousand-Year Blood War Arc Climax Selection will be broadcast on the TV Tokyo Network. The selection will revisit key moments from the story and essentially give viewers a chance to refresh their memories before the final episodes resume.

What Is Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity About?

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War adapts the final major storyline from Tite Kubo’s Bleach manga.

The story centres on a devastating conflict between the Soul Society and the Quincy forces led by Yhwach, the Quincy king who returns with an army capable of posing an enormous threat to the Soul Reapers.

Ichigo and his allies are once again thrown into the middle of the battle as the Soul Society struggles to survive the invasion. The final anime adaptation has been released in several split cours, allowing the production team to cover the massive concluding arc in stages.

The fourth and final part, The Calamity, began airing on July 25.

From The 2022 Comeback To The Final Episode

The Thousand-Year Blood War anime marked the long-awaited return of Bleach after the original television series ended in 2012. The first cour premiered in 2022 which introduced the final manga storyline to anime audiences. The second part, The Separation, followed in 2023, while The Conflict arrived in 2024.

Now, The Calamity is bringing the adaptation towards its finish, with only Episodes 49 and 50 left.

The original Bleach anime had a huge run from 2004 to 2012. The anime is based on Kubo’s hugely successful manga which began serialisation in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2001 and concluded in 2016. The manga was collected into 74 tankobon volumes.
