Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is still a few days away from hitting theatres but fans won’t have to wait until release day to get a closer look at the making of the epic. Ahead of the film’s worldwide release, a special behind the scenes documentary is set to premiere on streaming.
Titled The Odyssey: The Making of an Epic, the documentary promises to take audiences behind the camera to show a closer look at Nolan’s ambitious vision before moviegoers finally experience the film on the big screen.
The Odyssey: The Making Of An Epic – When And Where To Watch?
JioHotstar announced on Monday that The Odyssey: The Making of an Epic will begin streaming on The Peacock Hub from July 14, just days before the film arrives in cinemas.
Sharing the announcement on Instagram, the platform wrote, “Watch THE ODYSSEY: THE MAKING OF AN EPIC exclusively on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar from 14 July.”
Christopher Nolan’s Mumbai Visit For The Odyssey Made Headlines
The documentary announcement comes shortly after Nolan visited Mumbai for The Odyssey’s India premiere alongside producer Emma Thomas and actors Matt Damon and Tom Holland.
Before walking the red carpet, the trio surprised fans by making a stop at the iconic Olympia Coffee House in Colaba. Instead of heading straight to the premiere venue, Nolan, Damon and Holland were spotted enjoying chai, bun maska and desserts.
Sharing photos from the outing, Universal Pictures India wrote, “Quick tea stop before The Odyssey Mumbai Premiere. A Big night awaits, but chai comes first! #OdysseyMumbaiPremiere.”
Mumbai also became one of the film’s official international promotional stops alongside cities such as London, Paris and New York.
Christopher Nolan Says Audience Will Decide The Odyssey’s Fate
Speaking ahead of the release, Nolan admitted that every new film brings both excitement and nervousness, no matter how experienced the filmmaker may be.
“The audience tells you what it is,” Nolan told Associated Press.
He added, “And that means that for us, this is an exciting moment, but a very frightening moment, because it’s real. There’s nothing to hide behind. We made this film for a theatrical audience, and it goes out in the world as that. And we’ll see what the world makes of it.”
What Is The Odyssey About?
Based on Homer’s legendary Greek epic, The Odyssey follows the long and dangerous journey of Odysseus as he attempts to return home after the Trojan War.
Matt Damon leads the cast as Odysseus, while Anne Hathaway plays Penelope and Tom Holland appears as Telemachus. The film also stars Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page, John Leguizamo and Himesh Patel in key roles.
Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey is scheduled to release in theatres on July 17.
