Lokesh Kanagaraj may be known primarily for building some of Tamil cinema’s biggest action films from behind the camera but his turn as a leading actor in DC has given audiences a very different side of the filmmaker. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the Tamil romantic action drama pairs Kanagaraj with Wamiqa Gabbi and has managed to sustain its theatrical run into its second week. The film was released in Tamil and Telugu on August 7 and has now completed 12 days at the box office.
How Much Did DC Earn On Day 12?
According to Sacnilk, DC collected Rs 1.81 crore net in India on Day 12, Tuesday. The figure marks a 9.5 per cent decline from the Rs 2 crore net collection recorded on Day 11.
The film registered Day 12 earnings across 2,093 shows with overall occupancy standing at 23.4 per cent. While the Tuesday figure is lower than Monday, the film has continued to maintain a daily collection above Rs 1.8 crore in its second week.
The Tamil version remained the bigger contributor on the day. It earned Rs 1.28 crore. The Telugu version added another Rs 53 lakh.
What Is DC’s Total Box Office Collection In India?
As per Sacnilk, DC has collected Rs 58.57 crore net in India after 12 days. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 67.43 crore.
The film’s first week provided the biggest push to this total. It opened at Rs 4.40 crore on Friday before climbing to Rs 7 crore on Saturday and reaching its first-weekend peak of Rs 9.55 crore on Sunday.
It collected Rs 6 crore on Monday, followed by Rs 5.55 crore on Tuesday and Rs 5.25 crore on Wednesday. Thursday brought in Rs 4.15 crore and took the first week total to Rs 41.90 crore net, according to Sacnilk.
The second weekend then provided another boost. Day 8 brought Rs 2.86 crore while Saturday saw the collection jump to Rs 5.50 crore. Sunday added Rs 4.50 crore before the film settled at Rs 2 crore on Monday and Rs 1.81 crore on Tuesday.
How Much Has DC Earned Worldwide?
The film’s overseas performance has added considerably to its worldwide tally. According to the available Sacnilk figures, DC has accumulated Rs 21.50 crore in overseas gross collections.
Combined with its Rs 67.43 crore India gross, the film’s worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 88.93 crore after 12 days.
