OM Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood, the much-awaited film with Dhanush and Mammootty, has confirmed a new release plan. After weeks of talk and changes in the industry, the team has set the date. The thriller will hit theaters on November 20, 2026. Some fans were upset when the timeline moved. Now they can breathe easier.
OM Chapter 1 Moves To November 20 After Jailer 2 Clash
Securing the new date of release for this movie meant making certain moves that would ensure that no commercial damage is done to any number of prominent projects. As a matter of fact, at first the movie had a release date of October 16, but this came too close to the release date of Rajinikanth’s huge blockbuster sequel, Jailer 2, which was set for release on October 15. In light of the fact that the first installment of this franchise already made history when it comes to earning money worldwide, taking up against it became quite risky.

Why Did Dhanush-Mammootty’s Film Avoid The Diwali Release Window?
They avoided more than just the Rajinikanth release. The team also chose not to clash with the Diwali holiday rush. That choice came from simple respect in the film business. It also helped because Suriya’s big project had already taken that slot earlier. The lead actor later spoke to fans online. He said films should plan around each other. The goal is to keep things steady for the whole industry, not push everything into one crowded week. By skipping the mid-October buildup and the Diwali peak, the team got some space for their run.
