Did Ramayana Trailer Leak? Videos ‘Featuring’ Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi And Yash Surface Online

The purported videos show first glimpse of several key characters from Ramayana.

The makers of Ramayana appear to be battling an alleged trailer leak just days before its official launch. Hours after the film’s Pratham Sankalp event in Delhi on Saturday, videos  which feature scenes from the much awaited trailer began circulating across social media despite the team’s efforts to prevent unauthorised recordings.

According to Mid-day, the leaked footage is now being taken down by the film’s anti-piracy team and legal partners with copyright notices reportedly being issued to platforms hosting the clips.

Ramayana Trailer Leak: What Do Alleged Leaked Clips Show?

The purported videos show first glimpse of several key characters from Ramayana. These include Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Raavana, Arun Govil as King Dashratha and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi.

The circulating clips also appear to showcase some of the film’s major moments. Among them are Dashratha receiving a prophecy that his son will end Raavana’s reign, Rama practising archery while riding a horse blindfolded. He is also seen lifting the Shiv Dhanush during Sita’s swayamvar and accepting his exile following Kaikeyi’s demand and

The Sunday Guardian has not independently verified the authenticity of the leaked footage.

Makers Begin Legal Action

According to Mid-day, producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari have already activated their anti-piracy partners to curb the circulation of the leaked footage.

A source told the publication, “The takedown process has been underway since Saturday night. It was pulled down from Reddit by the morning of July 19, but X remains more challenging.”

The source further claimed, “The leak appears to have originated from an attendee’s phone recording. It shows Rama’s entry sequence as well the scene where Rama agrees to honour his father’s promise to Kaikeyi.”

While the Pratham Sankalp event was livestreamed for fans worldwide, the makers did not broadcast the trailer. Instead, the livestream was paused whenever it was screened for attendees in an apparent attempt to prevent leaks.

Star-Studded Launch Event In Delhi

The Pratham Sankalp event was attended by the film’s cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey and Arun Govil. Producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari were also present for the grand launch.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is presented by Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Monster Mind Creations. The film’s music has been composed by Academy Award winners Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman.

The official trailer is scheduled to premiere globally on July 24 while Ramayana: Part One will release in cinemas during Diwali 2026.

The second installment is slated to hit theatres on Diwali 2027.
